What Does This Test Check?

This panel checks three antibody classes (IgA, IgG and IgM) against Candida albicans, the yeast that causes thrush. It is marketed as a way to gauge deep or ongoing candida exposure.

Lola Health lists this as an add-on biomarker at £93.99, posted as a home sample with results in one to four working days. It cannot be bought on its own: you pick it while ordering one of Lola's main blood tests, so it suits someone who already knows which extra marker they want.

Raised antibodies may indicate past exposure, but almost everyone carries candida, and the clinical value of antibody levels for vague symptoms is not established. Do not start anti-fungal treatment on this result alone. Whatever the reading, an out-of-range result needs a doctor who can see the whole picture, so go through it with your GP before acting on it.
