What Does This Test Check?

This screening panel checks for markers of the hepatitis viruses, most commonly the A, B and C strains that can affect the liver. It looks for antibodies or viral antigens to show whether you have been exposed to, or currently carry, one of these viruses.

Goodbody Clinic is the only provider listed, selling its hepatitis screening test for £129. As a single option there is no cheaper or faster alternative on this page, so the decision rests on clinic access and what the panel covers.

A reactive result may indicate exposure to a hepatitis virus, but it does not by itself show how active an infection is or how well your liver is coping. Hepatitis can be cleared by the body or be chronic without symptoms, so take your result to your GP for confirmatory testing and advice.
